HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I'm sort of obsessed with this Express dress
... and yet, have no desire to wear it.

Just Add Water

I love all movements that encourage more sustainable fashion. That’s why I got so excited when I read about the “Wonderland” project. The project is a collaboration between British designers and scientists to shed light on the increasing quantities of discarded clothing being sent to landfill sites.

And what, you ask did this environmentally conscious collaboration yield? Why, a dress that dissolves in water.

The exhibit began at the London College of Fashion will be included in the Design Museum on February 13th

Patriotic Duty

It became apparent from her days on the campaign trail, that Michelle Obama is a fan of Thakoon’s vibrant colors and unexpected prints. Everyone wanted to copy her presidential style, but with pieces priced at around $1000, it was out of reach for most Americans.

Enter, the diffusion line… Thakoon and GO International for Target have collaborated on a more budget friendly line that hits stores today. The pieces seem to bring to mind (okay… It’s a direct knockoff of) Thakoon’s Spring 2008 collection.

Can you tell which costs just $39.99?
(Answer: the one of the left)

While I don’t love the dress (either option), it would make a great outfit for an Inauguration Party!
